I spent my evening going through my usual visioning process.

This is the time I dedicate to reflecting on the questions I explored at the start of the Gregorian year in 2024.

This process is a joy.

It’s slow, compassionate, and gentle—perfect for this time.

What I noticed with the questions this year—and I LOVE how I discover something new with the journaling part each year—is that the process isn’t focused on anything specific but rather on how we want life to feel.

How life feels is central to my work with clients and with myself, but noticing this within the questions after four years was a moment of revelation.

Perhaps this is because I haven’t felt as deeply as I have this past year.

I won’t beat around the bush—when I was aggressively harassed in January 2024, it had a profound impact on me. More than I’ve allowed anyone to see.

In response, I turned my focus to my doula work—deepening my connection to birth and giving my whole self to every couple.

At festivals, I found myself talking about the pelvis but still deeply anchored in the needs of my doula clients.

When I went online recently to discuss the pelvis, I realised I hadn’t truly centred on rooting, mothering, or tending to ourselves for… a year.

And yet, that’s precisely where I’ve been with myself.

More nature.

More slowing down.

More understanding of the nervous system.

More ‘seeing,’ so I could no longer ‘unsee.’

This past year has been about mothering myself and embracing the reality that I am, unequivocally, a mother.

That might sound odd, considering I’ve been a mother for nearly nine years.

But fully accepting that I can soften, deepen, and trust in the process of mothering only truly came to me this year.

Maybe it was seeing other mothers come to terms with their mothering phase.

I don’t know.

But I can say that this last year has been one of the hardest work seasons of my life—and one of the gentlest, personally.

Late last year, I faced yet more harassment—again, for being a women’s advocate.

Standing alongside a woman and her choices is sometimes an incredible challenge. Simply listening and presenting her options without judgement or questioning her decisions, remaining curious about her journey, is no small task. Her choices are hers, rooted in her story—not mine, not yours, but hers alone.

And that’s life.

Life is an unfurling, unwavering trajectory laid out before us. Yes, we have choices, but those choices were always there, written in the stars. Your soul has a journey to navigate.

To sit with those choices without judgement—that’s the hardest part of honouring our needs, desires, and truths at any given moment.

To grieve.

To accept.

To acknowledge.

To be in the sun and the dark and all of it.

Life.

And sometimes—FUCK.

Reflecting on my year was challenging. It was a serious year with little play. Few belly laughs. Something I’ve started to notice deeply about myself.

I pulled my children out of school. They spend their days playing. Constantly playing.

To play.

And though I continue to navigate the immense pain, harassment, and abuse of 2024—which is beyond unacceptable—that’s the reality of being a woman who stands by other women. We can become scapegoats. Victim blaming is rampant, whether overt or subtle.

Those who don’t stand unequivocally with women in our misogynistic world often face an easier path. It’s a bypass. But it’s not a true path to themselves, because they’ve yet to remember what it means to hold another woman exactly where she is, so they too can hold themselves exactly where they are.

When a woman remembers, deep in her bones, what it means to be a woman—to tend to the feet of another without questions of “what if” or “what could be,” but simply to be in that moment—she reconnects with the essence of tending and mothering.

Deeply.

And so, this is my invitation to you: remember to always mother yourself. Deeply. Again.

The year ahead is written in the stars and we have to simply remain open and curious about how life feels.

Holding you,Naomi x

P.S. Here’s the reminder that we will be meeting online for the second month on the 25th January at 10:00am - 11:00am
